I was first elected to local government in 2014 and am currently in my third term as Area H Director of the Regional District of Fraser Fort George. I have worked on community initiatives and in community development for the last 17 years. One key thing that I have learned is that every community success has been the result of people working together, cooperating to overcome challenges and build lasting change.
NCLGA is the coming together of communities. It is a chance for us to stand together when needed, learn from each other, and share our achievements and our challenges. We have a greater voice when we speak together and together we can advocate for policies that help us build sustainable, resilient communities, strong and adaptive enough to deal with the changes happening now and in the future.
The Board of Directors oversees 9 committees (see figure below), which are comprised of member elected officials.
